«The Madman of Rock & Roll» was known for his
unique outfits, infectious stage persona and garage rock hits.

Paul Revere, a teenage businessman who found an outlet for his entrepreneurial spirit in the form of a campy rock ’n› roll band that capitalized on his name, wore Revolutionary War-era costumes and cranked out a string of grungy hits in the mid-1960s, has died.

The band recorded a string of hits in the 1960s and early 1970s, including «Kicks,» «Hungry» and «Indian Reservation.» Revere, the band’s organist, had a hyperactive effervescent stage personality and came to be known as «the madman of rock ’n› roll.»
