Angelo Badalamenti, der am 22. März 1937 in New York City geborene US-amerikanische Komponist italienischer Abstammung, ist am 11. Dezember 2022 in Lincoln Park (New Jersey) gestorben. Grosse Bekanntheit erlangte er durch seine langjährige Zusammenarbeit mit dem Filmregisseur David Lynch für dessen Filme wie «Twin Peaks», «Blue Velvet» oder «Mulholland Drive». Badalamenti erhielt 1990 den Grammy Award für die Best Pop Instrumental Performance für sein «Twin Peaks Theme». Er arbeitete auch mit Stars und Bands wie Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson, Shirley Bassey, Patti Austin, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Marianne Faithfull, Liza Minnelli, Roberta Flack, Pet Shop Boys und Anthrax zusammen.
