«Wiki loves monuments» 2011 swiss contest
The association Wikimedia CH, in charge of the promotion of Wikimedia projects like the online encyclopedia Wikipedia in Switzerland, invites to a national photo contest focused on Swiss heritage.

The concept of this contest is to take, between July and September 2011, a
maximum of photos of cultural property of national significance in Switzerland.
The complete list of all these items indicated by canton is available from this site.
All pictures will be uploaded to Wikimedia commons under a free license in order to be available for any future usage. Wikimedia commons is the online multimedia library, hosting for example all the illustration of all the Wikipedia in every language.
During summer months and September, you have the possibility to upload as many pictures as you want of monuments you visited during your Sunday walks or holidays.
At the end of the contest, a jury will select the nicest pictures
which best represent the object.
Owners of the winning pictures will receive prices and recognition during a
celebration evening where all participants of the contest will be invited.The
tenth best shot will be award by aerial photography séance, flight ticket or
photo material.
All the photographs having pictures on the short list of the jury will receive a Wikimedia CH wrist-strap.
